It has been a sad week around the Dunaway House. We have spent most of our time saying goodbye to friends and getting the process started on our big move. It's like old hat around here but telling your doctors, preschool and neighbors that you are moving is like having to break up with an old boyfriend over and over.

Coop has been on the move and is crawling everywhere. You can find him trailing behind Lucy. He even sits at the glass door and waits for her to come in side. He is like her little puppy.

Taylor has had a terrible case of the stomach flu so we have been laying low.

We are officially driving to Salt Lake next Saturday! I'm a little overwhelmed with packing, getting the kids ready for our 2 month stay in Salt Lake and working full time so I'm thinking that my next post will be from the Beehive State. Keep us in your prayers... and pass me some energy if you have some to spare.

Good ol' Salt Lake City.

Here is the need to know info:

Dusty has been AMAZING working his way up the ladder at Acro Energy. This past week he received an offer to partner with a company { Clean Power Finance } in San Francisco that he couldn't pass up. He has been kicking some clean energy behind! Seriously, he has a heart of gold and a work ethic that is unmatched.

This is going to be the quickest move yet, since he will be starting at his new company in San Fran in a few weeks. Our last move from San Diego to LA left me at home with the kids during the majority of the week while he settled into a routine and we found us a place to live about 6 weeks. This was perfect since I had my amazing girlfriends as support and he was only a few short hours away.

Unfortunately, that arrangement won't work this time around. Without the backbone of our dear friends, the fact that I'm working full time and that he will be over 6 hours away we realized I would need a little support...so the kids ( Lucy) and I are headed to Salt Lake for 2 months.

Crashing the parents pad! The poor lot won't know what hit them. Dusty and I are beyond thankful that they will be putting us up for the next few months. Not really looking forward to the SLC weather but I am excited to be around old friends and great food..... ahhhh Crown Burger, Cafe Rio and Hires.

We should be settled in Mill Valley by June 1st, just in time for Coopers 1st birthday. Our little Coop will have lived in 4 homes in his first year. 6 homes for Taylor in 2 years.

Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Sarrento Valley, LA, Salt Lake and now Mill Valley.

THE BEST NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

We had Coopers 6 month check in at the cardiologist today.... and guess what?!? All of the valves have stopped leaking and the narrowing in his pulmonary veins have started to reach normal levels ( which the doctors told us would more than likely never happen) They are still narrow but not nearly at the degree that they were a few months ago.

The best news is that Cooper's little heart has been moved from a moderate condition to a mild condition!!!

Just writing this makes me tear up. We are sooooo happy. Dusty was over the moon when he heard the news. This is truly AMAZING. Hip Hip Hooray for Super Coop!

Sad...

Dunaway Update

Hello Friends!

What a busy week we have had around here and MANY more busy days to come. I went back to work full time this past week. I count my blessing that I work for such a wonderful company; I can work from home and do something that I truly love a win, win. We are doing this to save some extra pennies for the upcoming year, cross your fingers that we can buy a house soon.

We have so many BIG changes that are in the works. I should have the green light to share all of the goods tomorrow so keep posted.

ARE YOU SICK OF HIGH PAID TEACHERS???

Are you sick of highly paid teachers?
Teachers' hefty salaries are driving up taxes, and they only work 9 or10 months a year! It's time we put things in perspective and pay them for what they do - babysit!
We can get that for less than minimum wage.

That's right. Let's give them $3.00 an hour and only the hours they worked; not any of that silly planning time, or any time they spend before or after school. That would be $19.50 a day (7:45 to 3:00 PM with 45 min. off for lunch and plan-- that equals 6 1/2 hours).

Each parent should pay $19.50 a day for these teachers to baby-sit their children. Now how many students do they teach in a day...maybe 30? So that's $19.50 x 30 = $585.00 a day.
However, remember they only work 180 days a year!!! I am not going to pay them for any vacations.
LET'S SEE....
That's $585 X 180= $105,300
per year. (Hold on! My calculator needs new batteries).

What about those special
education teachers and the ones with Master's degrees? Well, we could pay them minimum wage ($7.75), and just to be fair, round it off to $8.00 an
hour. That would be $8 X 6 1/2 hours X 30 children X 180 days = $280,800 per year.
Wait a minute -- there's
something wrong here! There sure is!
The average teacher's salary
(nation wide) is $50,000. $50,000/180 days
= $277.77/per day/30
students=$9.25/6.5 hours = $1.42 per hour per student--a very inexpensive baby-sitter and they even EDUCATE your kids!) WHAT A DEAL!!!!

Baby Steps

Cooper and Taylor have always been on a different path. We like to say that Coopers first few months in this world don't count since he struggled so much. Even though he is a little cricket he is still meeting all of his developmental milestones on time ( and some a little early). Taylor on the other hand far exceeded her gross motor milestones. Here is a little reminder.

Taylor Aug 2008 { 5 1/2 months}

Look at those cubbies. Within a week she crawled sat up on her own and pulled to standing. All before 6 months

Cooper March 2011 { 81/2 months}

Side note:

1. Taylor also walked at 9 months.

2. I have to say, since this is... most likely... our last baby I'm glad that she has stayed this little size for much longer. }

3. Cooper needs a hair cut

4. I can't get Taylor out of her princess outfits! Arghhh

Did I mention...

That my super cute sister Allie just got engaged to super wonderful Brad!

They are getting married in the Fall in San Francisco. I'm going to help her with some ideas for the big day and help put together a little open house for them in Utah after the wedding.

Here are some little goodies that have been inspiring me.

After the wedding they are having an intimate family dinner at an AMAZING restaurant in San Francisco. I love the idea of a long table with lemons.. not as many leaves, yellow table clothes and lots of white lights. The restaurant is cozy with very dark wood I love the contrast.

For the open house. I love these mini donuts and pretty little cakes and pies

Cooper is still very small. He doesn't even get close the the bell curve at the Dr.'s office. But it's fun to see him grow, even if it's only a little bit.

I love this etsy shop! Isn't Clementine perfectly lovely? Everything is clean and pretty. I love jewelry that I can wear everyday. I have a lot of goodies that only come out for a nice occasion.... and I don't often have nice occasions these days.
