It official... we are moving out of our little house. We will be staying in an apartment in Carmel Valley ( just east of Del Mar) in order to putting money away for a down payment on a house. I hate saying apartment, as my pride is getting the better of me. Doesn't moving into an apartment sound like we are moving backwards? I do realize however, that this small step back will give us two giant leaps forward. I count my blessings every day that we never bought in San Diego and that we aren't stuck with a house under water. But still yucky!!!
Like grown ups we decided it was financially irresponsible to stay in our house when we could be paying down school loans and saving up for a down payment on our own home. Being an adult is soooooo over rated. As much as I love our house there are a lot of positives that go along with this decision ( I have to keep reminding myself... but they are there) #1 we are going to save 1200 dollars a month on just rent! #2 some great friends of ours are moving into our little beach house. #3 I get to clean and organize every little nick-nak in our house.
We plan on staying in this new little apartment for about 6 months and moving to a house from there. I will be posting more information and pictures as we get closer to moving day! (September 15)

ashley, we are doing the same thing. we just sold our condo and are paying off some debt and renting for a year. (we are moving this week!) it totally hits the pride, dang it! but then, it is better to be practical now, then pay for it later!! good luck moving, it is not easy or fun, especially with children!
