Dunaway Board Meeting

Twice a year Dusty and I have a Dunaway Board Meeting. ( We stole this amazing idea from Doug Andrews) We list our family responsibilities from most to least important and review each in detail: Over a really nice dinner, and a great bottle of wine. The important part of the board meeting is leaving feelings check at the door. Truly, nothing gets accomplished if we get emotional. We talk about everything as if we are running a company: THE DUNAWAY CORP.
(I should note that I am the CEO and Dusty is the CFO). Here is the table of contents for this years Board Meeting. We meet the 2nd week of January and the 2nd week of June.

{ Listed in order of current importance }

1. Family

    • Relationship
    • Parenting

2. Financial

3. Professional

    • Dusty: Business Plan (Paramount Energy Solutions)
    • Ashley: Business Plan ( The Pickled Bean)

4. Physical

    • Dusty
    • Ashley

5. Intellectual

    • Dusty
    • Ashley

6. Personal

    • Dusty
    • Ashley
The Binder is 15 pages long and we each take just over a week to fill out the information. This is an extremely detailed process: example, Dusty pulls our credit scores and we print out the last 6 months of our credit card history to review during the financial section. We also rewrite our budget and adjust our spending plan. The Board Meeting takes hours but is extremely worth it.

** I've had a few people ask for a copy of the board meeting. I would love to share! I think it's lovely for families to be on the same page for the New Year. Contact me at ashleyedunaway@thepickledbean.com and let me know if you would like me to send it in "word" or "pages"
